OUR MISSION: To promote healthy babies and young children through education, advocacy and medical and scientific research, and to embrace families touched by the sudden, unexpected or accidental loss of a child from birth to age two.

Services

(Adopted from the Association of SIDS and Infant Mortality Programs (ASIP):
Standard for Services to Families)

Grief Support for Bereaved Families – The Alliance offers quality support services to bereaved families.  These services are intended to provide accurate information to the family about the cause of death, to offer anticipatory guidance about the grief experience, and to introduce the family to available support services.

Methodology utilized:  Literature; Peer Support (Support Groups); Individual/Family Counseling (Outside Resources Provided); and, upon request the Alliance can match a newly bereaved family with a peer contact.

SIDS Risk Reduction Education Program -   The Alliance offers education for caregivers, health care providers and first responders—to include law enforcement, fire and ambulance personnel—thus better enabling them to respond in a more supportive manner to families who have experienced a sudden infant death.

The Alliance is also available for community presentations to target populations:  new and expectant parents, grandparents, communities with higher risk for infant mortality, and interested others.

Funeral Assistance Support – The Alliance makes available a listing of Funeral Homes that provide services for the indigent within Tarrant County .
